Rachel has recently joined us through Channel 4’s Production Training Scheme as our Trainee Development Assistant. Rachel is a recent Economics graduate from the University of Surrey and has made a career change from the world of Product Development for the London Stock Exchange Group to TV Development! She is excited about the world of drama and looks forward to working with the team developing ground-breaking stories that’ll shake up television.

Laurence Bowen is a multi BAFTA Award winning and Emmy nominated Producer who most recently executive producedThe Salisbury Poisonings for BBC1, the UK episodes of The New Pope starring Jude Law and John Malkovich, Porters for UKTV/Dave and The Eichmann Show for BBC2 starring Martin Freeman, Anthony LaPaglia and Rebecca Front. He was presented with the Monte Carlo International Producer Of The Year Award, has won RTS, Broadcast and Chicago Film Festival Awards, received Prix Jeunesse, Rose D’or, Emmy and BANFF nominations and last year won The Japan Prize.

His work includes Suburban Shootout (starring Tom Hiddleston, Ruth Wilson, Anna Chancellor, Amelia Bullmore and Felicity Montagu), Stone Scissors Paper(starring Juliet Stevenson and Ken Stott), Dual Balls(starring Lesley Manville), Gates (starring Tom Ellis, Joanne Page and Sue Johnston), Miranda (starring Christina Ricci, John Simm, John Hurt, Kyle MacLachlan and Julian Rhind-Tutt), My Life As A Popat (starring Kulvinder Ghir and Shaheen Khan) and The English Harem (starring Art Malik and Martine McCutcheon).

Since joining Dancing Ledge in 2016, Toby has worked across the slate as Development Executive and Head of Development, helping to develop Delhi Crime for Netflix, script-editing Porters for Dave and The Salisbury Poisonings for the BBC. Most recently he has story produced The Responder, for the BBC. As Executive Producer, Toby works across a variety of projects, including Wedding Season for Disney+.

Before coming to Dancing Ledge, Toby spent a decade in entertainment and children’s TV, working with a range of talent across a variety of formats, culminating in 2 years as a Producer at CBBC.

Carmel joined the team in late 2020. She studied in Galway, Ireland and qualified as a CIMA accountant at British Airways but left the airline industry for the joys of television in 2009 when she joined BBC Worldwide (now Studios) as Head of Finance. She spent 5 years in the Content division, working with many of the leading UK Indies and representing BBC Worldwide’s investments as both a distributor and minority shareholder. Carmel then moved on to senior finance roles at Sony and Lookout Point and joins us now from Banijay, where she spent 3 years as UK CFO, working across both the scripted and non -scripted divisions.

Chris is one of the UK’s leading Drama Producers, responsible for, amongst others, Les Miserables (dir. Tom Shankland, starring Dominic West, David Oyelowo, Lily Collins) for BBC1 and PBS/Masterpiece, Apple Tree Yard (dir. Jessica Hobbs, starring Emily Watson and Ben Chaplin) for BBC1, River (dir. Richard Laxton, starring Stellan Skarsgard, Nicola Walker and Lesley Manville) and Run (dir. Charles Martin, starring Olivia Colman and Lennie James) for C4.

In an earlier life he was the Executive Producer of the Worlds First Arabic Webdrama Shankaboot, helping to create the multi-award winning 50+ episode Beirut based short form series, and developed and produced Dirk Gently (dir. Damon Thomas, starring Stephen Mangan) for the BBC and the cult comedy series ‘This is Jinsy’ with his former company ‘The Welded Tandem Picture Company’ for SKY

In an even earlier life he worked in the fields of Factual and Entertainment as an Executive Producer, Series Producer and Producer/Director for ITV Studios where he made a wide variety of shows. His first network TV Credit, and still one which he’s singularly proud, was directing the holiday insert films in Cilla Black’s Blind Date.

Gillian joined the Dancing Ledge team in early 2022 as Head of Development. After a brief dalliance with science, Gillian found a love of story and over the past 13 years has worked in development and production for a raft of indies as well as commissioning at Channel 4 and BBC Drama.

An experienced Script Executive and Story Editor of series, serials and singles, she has worked on a diverse range of dramas including Idris Elba’s BBC Three Takeover series Five by Five, the International Emmy-award-winning Utopia by Dennis Kelly, Netflix’s Been So Long by Che Walker and Andrew Davies’s Fanny Hill.

Prior to this role, Gillian worked as a Development Producer on returnable and serial dramas, while creating and producing a script callout programme for under-represented and unagented screenwriters. She is committed to finding and supporting the voices of stories that aren’t being told.

Pete joined Dancing Ledge in early 2023 as a Production Executive. Previously he worked as a freelance line producer in the UK and overseas on productions including Extraordinary, Riviera, The Durrells, The Girl Before, King Gary, Urban Myths, Secrets, and Yonderland.

He also worked as Production Executive on Strike Back 6 for Left Bank Pictures, produced 3 short films written by Alan Moore and with the Scissor Sisters when they were the opening act at two of the BRIT Awards.

Pete started his career at The Jim Henson Company working in the UK, Australia and the USA. He was the Production Manager on Muppet Christmas Carol and Treasure Island and in various positions on Farscape, Dinosaurs, Fraggle Rock, Buddy and many other Jim Henson Company productions.

After graduating from the University of Manchester with an MA in Screenwriting in 2022, Will joined Dancing Ledge in January 2023. Starting out as the Office Runner, he has since moved up to the Personal Assistant Role. He’s keen to get involved with every aspect of the business, learning the tricks of the trade before trying to make it as a writer himself. His passions include Dark Comedy, Horror, walking dogs, and writing about himself in the third person.

Georgia joined the Dancing Ledge team in mid 2021 after three years at BBC Studios in Drama Production, working across programmes such as Time, Silent Witness, Our Girl, We Hunt Together, and The Watch. Prior to joining BBC Studios, Georgia worked for Endemol Shine Group in non-scripted entertainment and factual format development, and on the international rollout of titles such as Big Brother, Hunted and All Together Now. Before moving to London, Georgia’s first job in TV was working for the Australian indie Matchbox Pictures.

Jacquie was welcomed into the Dancing Ledge family as Head of Production in 2021, following a successful 25 year freelance career working across an eclectic mix of TV, Film & documentaries.

In her previous role as a Head of Production and Production Executive at BBC Studios , the productions that she oversaw included Time, Luther, Dr Who, Our Girl, The Watch, Silent Witness, We Hunt Together, Smother, Rillington Place, Babs and the BAFTA Winning Three Girls.

Before joining the BBC, Jacquie had worked as a freelance Line Producer and Producer, her credits include prestigious dramas such as My Mad Fat Diary, One Child, Undercover, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, The Last Kingdom, Brighton Rock, The Boys are Back and Miss Julie.

With over 20 years experience across both development and production, Simon has worked as a storyliner, script editor, writer, story producer, Head of Development and Creative Director across drama, comedy and continuing drama. At BBC Drama North he optioned and developed multi-BAFTA winning In The Flesh (BBC3), The Secret of Crickley Hall, In the Dark and From Darkness (BBC1); and after joining Dancing Ledge in 2022 he story produced Domino Day for BBC3.

Rosie joined the development team at Dancing Ledge in July 2023 as a Script Editor with experience on a wide range of shows working with some brilliant writers. These include script editing Abi Morgan’s new show ERIC with Sister for Netflix, Sharon Horgan’s BAD SISTERS for Apple, Sean Cook’s REDEMPTION for Tall Story Pictures on ITVX/Virgin Media, series 4 of Ayub Khan-Din’s ACKLEY BRIDGE for The Forge on Channel 4 and three years on Heidi Thomas’s CALL THE MIDWIFE for Neal Street Productions on BBC 1.

Before making the leap into Script Editing, Rosie worked as production assistant for Neal Street Productions with Creative Access. Prior to that, she’d had a brief stint in a financial investment company and even spent a year in Japan teaching English after leaving university.

Jess has been a part of the Dancing Ledge team since 2019. She started her TV career in the world of factual development as a researcher for the award-winning Insight TWI. She then worked as a book-to-film reader and researcher for Dialogue, as well working freelance as a researcher for Sister. She finally landed at Dancing Ledge. She began as a researcher but soon made her way to more editorial roles. She is now a Development Executive. She is also script editing on multiple projects.

Jess is passionately committed to fostering and developing emerging, diverse talent. She hopes to bring to screens stories yet untold and forms of storytelling unexplored. She works across the slate on both comedy and drama, with a focus on factual.

Anthony is a recent addition to Dancing Ledge joining the Production team as Coordinator in August 2023. Coming from a background as an experiential events producer he looked to make a career change, after the Pandemic put a temporary hold on events all over the world. He transitioned to the world of TV via the Covid department on Gangs of London Season 2 and after short stint on Bridgerton Season 3 managed to leave the world of Covid behind moving into Production working as Assistant Production Coordinator on Supacell for Netflix.

Beth joined Dancing Ledge Productions just after its inception in 2017 as Development Assistant, after years spent roaming the wilds of freelance script reading, agenting and production. She helped build the development slate, with a particular focus on discovering and nurturing emerging screenwriters. She manages all the various mentorship schemes for new talent, including the ScreenSkills HETV Screenwriting Mentorship Scheme, the BBC Directors Scheme and the Dawn Sturgess Bursary.

She assisted on the creative development of PORTERS (Dave) and coordinated the UK production office on THE NEW POPE (Sky Atlantic, HBO, Canal+). She was Assistant Script Editor on THE SALISBURY POISONINGS (BBC1), THE RESPONDER (BBC1) and CROSSFIRE (BBC1). Most recently she script edited BIG MOOD (Channel 4) up to production and DOMINO DAY (BBC3) from inception through to post-production. As part of Dancing Ledge Productions’ community outreach, Beth has produced a number of short films for Kensington Aldridge Academy to raise awareness of its hardship fund. She also mentors students of London Screen Academy.
